I'm the buyer. Would like to know when do i need to settle the 1% commission for my agent. If i pay him during 1st appt, what if he won't see thru till completion? What is the role of a buyer's agent? Will he see thru the sale till completion?

Whether an agent see the transaction through till completion is very subjective. If you are really concerned that your agent might not see through your transaction till completion, then you can negotiate with your agent and arrange to pay him/her upon completion. There are quite many agents who are agreeable to such arrangement. Read More

The standard guideline is pay on the completion day. However it is guideline and not mandatory. If the agent cannot wait till completion then you may want to pay staggered. meaning to say 50% on first appt and remaining 50% on completion day for a win-win situation. Read More
