Dear Mr. Samy, first there isn't any right or wrong time to own a HDB. Prices for HDB are subjected to location, size and location of the unit after a valuation has been conducted on that unit. Cov is also subjective and there isn't any hard and fast regulation on the amount since it's dependent on what the Seller (Owner) is asking. Apart from above, to own a HDB unit, you must have attained PR status of 3 yrs and above. This is the basic prerequisite from HDB for application if a unit. Further, you would have to consider other issues like the financial calculation, loan approval etc. I've been assisting my clients in all areas of queries and I would be glad to render my professional advice to you to find your dream home. Afternoon Samy, Depending in your purpose of the purchase, the estate that you are looking into and what is your current financial standing. While waiting for the unit, you will incur rental cost and possible risk of policy changes. The longer you wait, the more money you might be wasting.
