Sorry to hear about your situation, in order to apply for BTO, you will still need to fulfill the eligibility criteria, otherwise you may need to submit an appeal to HDB and see if they are able to grant you special approval. This applies not only for BTO but resale HDB as well.

Hi Roz,

1) I'm really sorry about your situation.
2) If you are under 35 yrs old as a Single orphan you are not eligible to apply for a BTO under the current eligibility schemes.
3) There is only 1 eligibility scheme under the purchase of a resale HDB flat, which is the ophan scheme.
4) Under this scheme any SC who is under 35 yrs old and above 21 yrs old may apply to buy a resale HDB flat, provided one of your deceased parents was an SC or SPR.
5) You may buy with your siblings if there are any or buy alone.

6) If it is a BTO that you are looking for, there are 2 options that you could attempt:
(a) Appeal via the efeedback channel, explain your situation and seek special approval under compassionate grounds.

(b) If the appeal fails then you could approach your MP and seek the same special approval.
