As overseas property are also considered a form of private property, you will need to appeal to the authorities for the housing grant and they will review on a case by case basis. Similarly to application for BTO flats application, there is a sit out period of 30 months before home buyers who have previously disposed off a private property will need to observe before being eligible.
Housing grants are also subjected to household income and other eligibility criteria, on top of the ownership of private property.
