For new EC, you might want to note that the income ceiling is 14k/month. New EC might be better in terms of capital appreciation potential but the locations are often in the suburban OCR regions where infrastructure plans are in the works for development. For resale HDB, you have more options, especially units in the city-fringe areas / mature estates and typically they are more spacious. The downside is they are typically older and have less years in their balance lease.
If its for long-term stay, there are more subjective requirements such as proximity to parents / particular schools & locations. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.
