I'm eyeing a condo in the central area of Singapore, and selling my current Lakeside MRT HDB 4A corner unit flat. Can anyone advise me if I can do a contra sales? How long would such a typical sales take? Thanks for all advises.

Hi Nicholas,

You can’t do contra if you are selling HDB and buying private condo. However, you have the option of getting a bridging loan from the bank. However, you will be required to come out cash for the 5% downpayment and stamp duty.

Currently, HDB transaction takes about 3 months and private condo more flexible and probably 2 months. You may need to consider the timeline as well so that you will not end up renting a place to stay for a few months.

Hope I had answered all your questions.

Feel free to contact me should you need any further assistance.
