I'm currently looking to buy a 4 room resale HDB in Ang Mo Kio area.
The problem is that my wife is a foreigner and own private property overseas (est. value SGD100k only).
I intend to appeal to HDB to allow her to keep the oversea property as her mother needs to stay in that house overseas and the value of that property is not high anyway.

I do not intend to take any HDB grants or HDB loans. Anyone knows the chances of such an appeal case?

Should I appeal first or buy the flat first?

Hi Ed,

It will be better to talk to HDB first in your scenario. Is there any possibility to transfer the ownership of your wife's overseas property to her mum to comply to the regulation?
