I'm a SPR. My parent has used my name to purchase a private condo which TOP was in Feb 2017. However i'm getting married next year hoping to register for BTO with my SG husband. Are we still able to apply for BTO or we can only apply for resale flat?

you will have to dispose off any interest in private property in Singapore or be it overseas 30 months before any application for BTO or new EC.

Do you have any financial commitment in the property? Probably can try to appeal but first, care to share why are you guys thinking of BTO/ HDB when there're better options out there?

Good evening,

You would need to worry about the SSD payable should you opt to sell away the private property now. Even if SSD is not payable, you can only opt for resale HDB unit as you are required to wait for 30 months after sales of private property in order to be eligible for BTO.

Hi Ms,

Unfortunately, you will not be able to purchase a BTO as you are the owner of a private property. Even if you dispose off the property, you will need to observe a waiting period of 30 months before you are eligible.

You may proceed to purchase a resale flat but under the current regulations, you will need to dispose off your private property within 6 months from the purchase of a resale HDB flat.

Hi Ms,

I regret to inform you that you're not eligible to apply for BTO. You can only apply for BTO if you sell iff the private property now, and then wait for 30 months before you can apply.

You can however choose to buy a resale HDB flat. However, do take note that you will have to sell off your private property within 6 months upon the completion of your HDB purchase.
