I'm a Singapore pr, divorced, currently the only ownership of the hdb flat. My children are Singaporean and will be moving out in soon to their new bto flat.

Can I still keep my flat once all my children moved out? What are the options available for me to keep the hdb? Add my child name to the flat ownership?

Hi, you may have to appeal to HDB to see if they allow you to keep your HDB flat as it is a case by case basis. If you can add your children who is a SC name to the flat ownership, you may retain the flat but do note this means your child cant apply for a resale or BTO.

Hi,

You may need to appeal with hdb to keep the flat, if there are no SC names in the flat anymore. This is because single SPR technically cannot hold onto the hdb, but your circumstances is a bit unique so hdb may assess on case by case basis.

Hope the above clarifies. I am well-versed with HDB and private property transactions, having helped more than 100 homeowners transit smoothly with their housing plans. Please reach out to me at 97432395  for a more in-depth discussion :)

May I have more info on your requirements so as to make better recommendations? Thanks and looking forward to chat more

As a single SPR, you are not allowed to own HDB under single ownership. You may need to include your child in as an essential occupier or co-owner. Read More
