I'm a 23 y/o sc, I want to buy a resale hdb with my mom(on LTVP). Understand that I'm not eligible for any grant in this case. But I wonder, if I get married in the future and sell this house to purchase another one with my future husband, will I be categorised as a second-timer and will I be able to receive any grant(as it's my second time buying hdb).

A side question, am I eligible to buy a EC with my mom now?

The eligibility criteria to purchase a brand new EC can be found at https://www.hdb.gov.sg/residential/buying-a-flat/executive-condominium/eligibility.

If you are looking to purchase a resale HDB with your mum on LTVP and do not take up any form of housing grants, then you will still be considered a 1st timer in the future.

If you were to purchase a brand new EC or resale EC, then you will need to dispose the EC and wait out for a period of 15 months to be eligible to purchase a resale HDB if we were to be referencing against existing regulations.

I have been in the real estate business since 2009, with more than 13 years of experience serving the Singapore real estate market.

I am very active in the residential segment of Singapore real estate market, having transacted hundreds of deals from HDBs to private condominiums and landed properties in Singapore, and have handled many unique cases in sales and purchases as well as rental deals.

Over the years, I have also established a network reaching out to more than 9,400 expatriates, bringing my market presence to both in and outside of Singapore. This has created an additional exposure when I manage my client's portfolios, on top of the conventional on and offline platforms, where other estate agents are relying on. This has allowed me to consistently convert leads into results.

With an evolving market, where change is the only constant, I have also been investing in upgrading of my knowledge and skills sets to improve myself and meet the demands of current and future market.

Hi Miss,

You will be considered as a first-timer should you purchase a HDB with your future Husband. Whether you qualify for Housing Grants will be dependent on various factors, i.e income ceiling, etc.

Also, you do not qualify to purchase a brand new EC from the Developer at this moment. However, you can purchase a resale EC where the first owners had met the MOP.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen

Hi Tingxuan,

1) You are now eligible to buy a resale HDB flat under the non-citizen family scheme.
2) Since you are under 35 yrs old, you will not be entitled to any grants for this purchase.
3) In the future when you apply for a BTO with your spouse, you shall be categorized under the 1st buyer priority. Since you did not enjoy any subsidiary from the govt in this purchase.
4) If you are buying a resale flat with your spouse, you will be eligible for the family, EHG, and proximity grant if applicable. Same reason as (3).
5) You are only eligible to buy a resale EC with your mom now. As your current situation does not satisfy any eligibility scheme for buying a new EC.

Please give me a thumbs-up if the answer provided is relevant to your main concern. Thanks!!!
