Yes you can still purchase a resale HDB flat if you had fulfill your MOP for your EC.

However, do take note that you will be required to sell off your EC latest 6 months upon the purchase of the resale HDB flat.

You can purchase a resale HDB when you fulfill minimum occupation period but you will have to dispose it off within 6 months from resale HDB completion.

If you were to purchase a resale HDB, you will be required to sell off your EC within 6 months from the completion of the purchase.

Purchasing a HDB may not be the best option for you since HDB has got limited upside in terms of capital appreciation. If you can afford financially, you may want to consider upgrading to a private property or purchasing a 2nd property for investment by decoupling your EC.

In your circumstances, you cannot own a EC and hdb permanently.

However you can own both EC and hdb temporary for a few months , you are required to sell your EC latest within 6months after collecting key to your resale hdb .

Hi,

It seems like you intend to invest in property buy somehow realise from your angle that there are huddles from financial perspective.

HDB flats has lot of restrictions including prevent anyone from profitting from the flat.
Thus if you own a resale HDB fulfilled MOP, you may purchase an EC which meets MOP, but not the other way round.

HDB flat is mainly for own stay. From the current macro environment, the chance of capital appreciation for HDB flat has already been strictly constrained by government by implementing the following:
(i) Removal of COV.
(ii) Non-recognization of seller valuation.
(iii)Building at least 3 times more of BTO over the past 6 years and still building next year (already announced).
(iv) Additional 1% buyer stamp duty for property above 1 million.

We are expecting to see lower if not no capital appreciation for the next 5 to 10 years time for HDB flat.

If you had met your EC MOP, would suggest to invest in private property to seek for capital appreciation and regular yield.
