If I own a hotels units (commercial service suits) overseas property , does the hotels units consider as non-residential properties or under residential properties. As I wish to purchase of resale HDB property, and I understand that if I owned the non-residential properties, I can no need to disposal the commercial property. So my concern is as below,

is the hotels units consider as commercial properties or residential properties?
am I still eligible for buying resales HDB properties ?
do I need to disposal of overseas properties ?
do I need to wait for the cooling periods before I purchase the resale HDB ?

It is in your interest to clarify your status with HDB directly regards to the ownership of the foreign properties affecting your eligibility to purchase a HDB in Singapore. We do not wish to misrepresent this case as even if HDB website did indicate about the criteria, I did notice that there were changes in the text that has been put out over the period of time when there was an update in process to the most current purchasing process.

1) Your overseas property is categorized as a commercial property.
2) The HDB web did not state in particular restricted to residential property only instead they only stated property in general.
3) Thus the best person to give you an accurate answer would be from the horse's mouth.
4) I wouldn't think your type of business would deprive you of buying an HDB flat.

6) Once you received an affirmative reply from the authority. I suggest you apply for your HFE before rushing out to do your home search.

1. You are eligible to buy a resale HDB property
2. In your situation it is likely that your unit is classified as a commercial property.
3. It is likely that there is no need to dispose the commercial property.
4. You do not have to wait for the cooling period before buying a resale HDB flat.
5. Try applying for a Housing Flat Eligibility (HFE) letter, and you should be able to get the outcome directly from HDB. Happy to walk you through this procedure if you are unfamiliar.
