Hi Mr Lee,

The HDB rules & regulation states that you may only own a private after meeting MOP of HDB flat .

On the other way around, if you own a private, then when you've got a HDB, you have to dispose off your private within 6 months.

Thus it does not matter whether the HDB you inherited meets MOP. If you intend to keep the HDB, you have to dispose off the private within 6 months upon key collection of HDB.

Otherwise, you have to sell the inherited HDB to keep your private within 6 months.

Good morning,

Under the current HDB ruling, you will be required to sell off the HDB unit if you have the intention to keep your condo or vice versa. When you inherited the unit, the ownership would have transferred hand and you will become the new owner. Hence you will need to comply with HDB ruling on the MOP requirement and ownership of second property.
