Hi,

This will fall under HDB Branch's purview, you will have to share reasons why you prefer to keep your parents place instead of yours. You also must be eligible to take over the HDB. So its case by case basis appeal for assessment and approval.

Do note if you have held the current HDB for less than 3 years, Seller Stamp Duty also still applies, if you decide to sell.

Hi there, how much longer is the MOP. and also do u have a valid reason for choosing to sell off your current place rather than the inherited HDB. If your reason is valid, there maybe a good chance I can helped you appeal to sell your current HDB in the open market. Unfortunately HDB will not allow you to sell in the open market if your HDB is under MOP. HDB would want you to sell the flat back to them. In your case, the situation is unique because of inheritance and therefore I would recommend you to appeal to HDB to allow you to sell the HDB in the open market if the choice is to keep your parent's HDB.
