As aforementioned, if you are doing contra for hdb, your current CPF OA will be cleared fully to fund the next flat. The CPF utilized + accrued interest refunded to your OA, from your sale of current flat, will also be cleared to fund the next flat
If any cash proceeds are still available from the sale, 50% will also go toward to fund the flat. All these measures are taken so as to reduce your HDB loan as much as possible, in order for more prudent financial planning, especially for folks near retirement age.
