Hi, it would not be possible to inherit the HDB under your name only. Your spouse would have to sell off the private property if you want to inherit the HDB. Or you can sell the HDB instead of inheriting it. If you would like a more detail analysis as to which options is better for you, feel free to give me a call.

Hi

You may inherit the HDB under your name only but your spouse needs to be listed as an occupier and this will result in your in having to sell his private property within 6 months of you inheriting a HDB. This is because HDB does not allow a married couple to own both a HDB that has not met 5 years MOP and a private property at the same time although both houses is individually owned. Hi,

As you are married, hdb will require both you and your spouse's name to be included in the hdb property should you choose to inherit the hdb and keep it. This means she has to dispose her private property within 6 months. I am not sure if this is the best approach for you?

You are free to inherit your parent's HDB flat, though as you're married, you will need to include your spouse's name either as a co-owner or an essential occupier.

This will mean that your spouse will need to dispose off the current private property he/she owns.
