Hi,

You can't purchase overseas property while awaiting for your BTO/Sales of Balance Flat from HDB, as before key collection, they will require you to have no private/overseas property (ie to say, you should have the same eligibility conditions during both application, and just prior to key handover). It is a pre-requisite condition (to have no other overseas/private property disposed within 30 months before new direct HDB flat application).
Please also take note, your current HDB flat A will have to be disposed within 6 months of key collection to new HDB flat B.

You can however, purchase other properties, after you have physically occupied your new HDB flat B for 5 years (ie MOP met). Thanks and hope it clarifies. May I have the opportunity to work with your requirements?

My concern is if you sell your current HDB unit, will you have a place to stay?

Also if you are looking to invest overseas or looking invest in a local private property, you may do so once you fulfil the 5 years Minimum Occupation Period for your new HDB flat
