Dear Sir/Mdm,
First of all congrats to your decision in gettng your new home!
Back to your question. Basically I cannot say that the CPF grant amount is used to offset the price of the house that you are buying. In fact this grant is used to improve your affordability to purchase the flat. This CPF grant amount will be credited into your CPF account to be used for the house purchase but it is not really used to offset the price.
A lot of people will feel that there is no difference but actually there are. When the CPF grant is being added in to our CPF and used for the house, there will be CPF accrued interests for the amount of CPF used.
When it comes to purchasing a property, financial calculations are very very important. Sometimes whether to take a grant or not is also a very big issue to be discussed. What I would suggest is that you can drop me a call and we can meet up for a discussion. No worries as there will be no obligations at all and we can just take it as a chat and I can use the opportunity to answer any more queries that you may have.
Looking forward to hear from you soon! Cheers!
Best Regards,
Jeffrey Heng
