I wish to write in to HDB to appeal and sell my flat before MOP. Currently reaching the 4th year in October. The reason being my kids are schooling in the west area and i have to travel every day back n forth from hougang to bukit panjang. To the extend that most of the time we sleep over at my mother in laws place in bukit panjang and only return to hougang on weekends as the transportation expenses to and fro is taking too much out of our expenses, we wish to sell as soon as possible . Is this a valid reason to appeal?

Hi Khairwan,

As long as the reasons are genuine, I do not see any reasons why it is not invalid. Perhaps you may wish to indicate why in the first place your child are schooling in the west instead of in Hougang in the first place?

I have clients who gotten the approval to sell with 2 more years to the MOP but then again it is a case to case basis.
