I will be selling my Executuve Condo at Citylife@ Tampines after MOP period which is now 6 yrs

I bought from HDB a 4 rm flat at Tampines Blk 221 in 1986 later sold

Many yrs later I bought Serangoon North Ave a Blk 144 which again sold

Ps note I do not understand what they mean by subsidise HDB as both flat we direct purchase from HDB and there were subsidy rate of any kind

May I know can I apply to HDB a BTO unit.

Good afternoon,

From the info shared, it appears you have already enjoyed 2 subsidized flats purchase. A subsidized flat, in HDB definition, is defined as a HDB unit bought direct from HDB (considered subsidized because it is cheaper than open market resale value unit), or a new EC unit bought direct from Developer (subsidized because it is cheaper than comparable private condos).

In your case, 221 Tampines is the 1st subsidized flat, and Citylife @ Tampines (bought from Developer) is considered the 2nd subsidized flat. Hence unfortunately you are no longer eligible to apply for BTO again, as HDB does not allow a household to enjoy more than 2 subsidized housing.

You can still apply and purchase resale HDB or private property no issue. Hope the above clarifies. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so as to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Let's breakdown your property journey since 1986.

2022 - can apply for BTO?

Purchase of a HDB or EC directly from HDB will constitutes a subsidised flat. One household is only able to enjoy up to twice. But seems like you wont be able to apply BTO. You can call HDB hotline to double confirm on that, i had done so for my client recently as well. Just a call away to clear your doubts.

Secondly if you are still eligible, you wont be able to apply unless you sell off your EC first and observe a waiting period of 30 months before you can apply.
