I was told by an agent at a recent launch that 20% downpayment has to be all in cash, even though I do not have any outstanding loans. He mentioend "regulatory requirement". Why is this so? Can I use my CPF? Thanks

The agent is not very well versed. You may also need to set aside a minimum sum for your SA and OA too before utilizing the full OA amount for your 15%.

Hi SLT

If you are buying residential, the initial downpayment for new launch will be 5% Cash upon booking and 15% Cash/CPF within 8 weeks.

If you are buying Commercial/Industrial New Launch, the initial downpayment will be 20% cash.

It is always advisable to consult a banker or a well versed real estate agent before you commit finanicially to any properties.

I will be able to assist if you need further clarifications or if you are interested in any new project launches.

Best Regards & Merry Christmas!
