I want to sell my 5I room woodland b898b mid floor but I have a problem , how to apply for my mom n dad the rental studio apartment.. I heard gov had subsidized rate for elderly for this studio flats. Can my parents apply for it.. They do not have any property in sg n been living with me..I need to sell my property ASAP or my marriage will not last because my wife could not get along with my mom throughout my 5 yrs marriage ..

Dear sir,

You can try applying the studio rental flat for your parents but based on my understanding, there is usually a long queue for such units and I also need to know if your parents names are listed as occupants in this unit or are they co-owners?

    They are listed as occupants as I got the 40k loan but I already satisfy the 5 yrs period of resale flat

Hi Rashid,

If your parents' names are listed as owners in your current flat, they would have to wait for 30 months before they can apply for the rental units from HDB. And yes, there is a long queue for it. You may contact me for a further discussion.

Hi,

Since your parents are not listed as owners, they can apply for the rental units from the government.

However, there is a quite a huge demand for it. Hence, you might have to explore the other option of renting a unit for them first if you really need to get them a place.

Hi Rashid,

To apply rental flat from HDB, need to satisfy a host of criteria.

Why not rent a 1+1 unit from open market for your parents to stay? In this case, you can proceed to sell off your 5rm flat sooner.

    It's too expensive to pay for rental flat.. Probably will cost minimum $1k.. Dats why I'm applying for subsidized studio appt.. Any idea how I can speed up d process.. Currently , I'm looking at rental at jb also for cheaper alternative..
