I want to buy a resale HDB flat and is getting HDB (HLE) loan under foreign spouse scheme.

1. Will this be counted as first time buying?

2. Will I be able to be a first time buyer in the future if I get a BTO?

Morning Kenneth,

If you are using housing grant, you would have utilized your first subsidized flat option. Therefore, if you were to opt for BTO in the future, you will be considered as second timer.

    Hi Thank you for the info. So using HDB loan is considered using grant? i have to use bank loan to be considered not using grant?

Hi Mr Kenneth Cheok,

If you buy a resale HDB flat without taking any CPF Housing Grant, you are still considered as first timer for future BTO.
