I’m a single Singapore citizen who has rented out my hdb after MOP. I’m half-way into the tenancy & I have decided to marry a foreigner. I understand that I will have to insert my wife’s name as occupier into the flat. Will it affect anything to the tenancy agreement?

Good morning Jevy,

All HDB owners whose household has at least 1 Singaporean can rent out their whole unit after MOP in which you had done so so not to worry on it.

You can double confirm with your HDB branch office on it as well.

Hi Mr. Jevy,

1) You have the HDB approval to lease out the whole flat after your MOP.
2) Insertion of your spouse into your flat is not an issue.
3) And you and your spouse are not staying in the flat thus this does not affect the current tenancy.
4) Unless you are only renting out rooms then you have to ensure that adding your spouse into the flat does not violate the restriction of a maximum of 6 pax in a flat.
