I recently got my EP and moving to SG, my cousin invited me to stay with my uncle (only my uncle and aunt is staying in the 3 room HDB and my cousin is married and stayed elsewhere). My uncle and aunt don’t want me to pay rent to them so I wonder should I be registered under occupier or tenants. If under tenant can put the rental fee as zero?

Hi,

1) Both ways are feasible.
2) They just need to log onto hdb.gov.sg using Singpass to register you as occupier or tenant.
3) If they prefer to register you under tenant, you may key in $1 as rent, or any small amount, as this should not affect their income tax payment.
