I previously sold my 4 room hdb flat in june 2009 with a profit in hand of 48000 dollars
to settle my debts to avoid bankrupsy and it was a resale flat,(1) will i be able to purchase another 4 room flat,(2)do i have to pay any levy or any other sort of payment in cash to hdb.Pls note that this will be my second housing loan from hdb without using the grant,pls advise,thank you.

Hi,

If you had took hdb grant for the 4rm flat that you had sold in year 2009, and you are going to buy a new hdb direct from hdb, then you do have to pay levy of $40k.

However, if you intend to buy it from the open, then you do not have to pay for the levy.
