I plan to buy BTO with my spouse but I have existing property under my dad and my name in Malaysia and is fully paid.
With this do I have to declare or remove my name from MY property?
What's the suggestion.

Hi,
You cannot own foreign properties if you want to buy a BTO or resale HDB. So, please dispose off the property before you apply.

You will need to dispose off the MY property and wait out for a period of 30 months before you are eligible to apply for BTO.

Hi,

1) In order to apply for BTO, you must not own any private property for the last 30 months.
2) To buy a resale, the wait-out period is 15 months.
3) You have to apply for the HFE before applying for BTO or buying a resale flat.
4) Under the HFE, there is a declaration of property under your name. You have to provide accurate and updated information under the HFE.
5) Failure to do so, you will be violating the HDB policy and providing false information to a government official. This will lead to a maximum fine of $5,000 or 6 months imprisonment or both.
