Hi,

Yes you can purchase a resale HDB before selling private property. You have to dispose your private property within 6 months after key collection to HDB. It takes about 3-4 months to complete HDB purchase.

Dear sir/madam,

Typical HDB resale transaction will take longer than a private property transaction. You will need to submit your resale application after exercising your Option To Purchase (within 3 weeks from day you put in a successful offer and secure a bank loan if required).

There after, 1st HDB appointment is likely to take place in about 6 weeks, followed by the final completion (2nd HDB appointment) in about 6 weeks. All in all, from day you put in a successful offer, the whole timeline could be 15 weeks, while private property takes about 10-12 weeks.

You will be given 6 months to remove your ownership status from the private property after you have collected the keys to the HDB unit. Excluding the hunt, the transaction from time of submission to completion will take around 4 months.

Yes of course you can purchase a resale flat even before you dispose off your private property. You will be given a time frame of 6 months to dispose it off after the resale HDB completion date.

Normally time frame for resale HDB purchase is 3 to 4 months.
