Good morning Sir/ Mdm,

if your HDB ownership has a Singaporean and have fulfilled your minimum occupation period, you will be eligible to purchase a private property.

Yes even by owning a small share of ownership, you are still eligible to use your CPF OA funds to finance the property.

But do take note of the cooling measures applicable.

Additional buyer's stamp duty of 17% will be applicable for SC's second residential property purchase in Singapore. This will be on top of the 3 to 4% normal buyer's stamp duty.

Care to share your intention behind this move so I will be in a better position to suggest whether is there any way to enjoy tax savings. 17% of $1m will have amounted to $170k.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

If your current HDB ownership has a Singaporean, and the MOP of 5 years have been fulfilled, you are eligible to purchase another private property, including 1% of the ownership. To use CPF OA for the 2nd property, you must have set aside Basic Retirement Sum of your cohort first in your CPF, before any excess CPF OA can be used for the 2nd residential property.
