I own a home overseas which financed with an overseas bank. It has increased in value so have quite a bit of equity available. My question is, can I use this equity to purchase a home in Singapore?

Hi Dennis,

First, you will need to check with the overseas bank that financed your purchase. Most likely you want to use this as colateral for purchases in SG.

Therefore you may want to seek your bank to see if possible to refinance the equity you have.

For E.g. Equity of $500k, you may want to draw out $200k cash for downpayment in SG property, you need to refinance your property to draw out the $200k in Equity. Note that the 200k + Interest will be added to the new mortgage loan of your existing loan. I am only providing a suggestion here, you will need to revert to your bank.

For SG. I can recommend a few bankers to contact you. My contact is 96722265  or atniche@gmail.com Read More
