I own a 5-room flat in Punggol and have stayed there for > 5 years. There is no outstanding HDB loan and I have met the household income requirement.

1. Can i buy an EC or Condo without selling my HDB flat? Can i buy new ones or can only buy from resale market?
2. What kind of loans are available?

Dear Mrs Tan,

It is great that you have fully paid off your HDB loan for your Punggol unit. As such, you will be entitled to 80% loan from banks for the next private property you purchase. As new EC is considered similar to HDB, you will be unable to hold on to your existing HDB should you decide to purchase that. Resale EC and new/resale private condiminiums will not be a problem for you to keep your HDB should you purchase these properties.
