I knew I can't buy new flats ,resale flats are very high price,I married with foreigner ..,mum n maid live together with me ..I do have a house that my recently now I'm staying ,is sharing with my own brother ..my question is,can I plead a new flats ..cox I bring along my mum together with my maid..so I need a better place to stay..tq

Hi Sha Dora Sha,

New flats are not necessary cheaper than resale flats, and you will also be competing against other applicants and you will not be guaranteed a place even if your appeal to purchase a brand new flat is approved. In addition, most BTO are also delayed in completion therefore your options for new flats are likely the Sale Of Balance Flats where supply of units are limited.

I reckon that you check out on your finances first to determine your loan eligibility as well as look into your existing funds available for utilisation in this home purchase (cash and CPF) so that you can work out on the possible options.

1) You can apply along with your mum although she might not have any income so that you are eligible for BTO under the Public Scheme.

2) Your mother has to be either an SC or SPR in order for you to be eligible.

3) Once you sort out the eligibility, then you can work on your HDB loan eligibility.

4) Find out how much loan you could get so that you know what are flat types most suitable for your case.
