I just got my Singapore citizenship Approval in Principle letter in this June 2017 and will be going through the Citizenship learning journey which will finish in Aug. My husband is SPR. We are interested to buy resale HDB flat and have two questions:
1. When are we eligible to buy HDB resale flat? Is it after I finish the 3 step learning journey and have the approval letter in Aug? Or must it be after I finish all the paper work and getting temporary ID?
2. Starting this April 2017, our monthly salary adds up to be S$12,144. However our average monthly salary for past 12 months is definitely below 12K. But now it's only 144 over the ceiling. For such situations, can we try to negotiate with HDB to be eligible for BTO flats or HDB loan? We both just started working for 3-4 years and we don't have a lot of savings and hope to leverage on the government schemes.
Thank you.
