I intend to sell my 5-rm flat once my immigration plans are completed in 6-9 mths' time. The 5-yr MOP is ending June 2014. I obtained 45K in grants including staying near my parents' block. what do I have to pay back to HDB? Thank you for your advice.

Evening Cang Chee,

Since you have utilized housing grant, your MOP is 5 years. Due to certain condition, you can opt to write in to sell your unit slightly prior MOP. However, this would be subjected to HDB approval. As per what Steven and Joseph have told you, the grant need not be returned as long as you have gotten approval to sell (prior MOP) or upon fulfilling MOP.
