I have sold my current 5 room HDB flat after staying for 5 years and looking at a smaller HDB flat in the open market. Am i subjected to the HDB penalty? I bought my old flat from open market but i took the grant.

Dear Mr. Teo, there is no penalty if you are purchasing from the open market.
However, if you are taking a 2nd concessionary HDB loan in the next purchase, you be subjected to a reduce in loan granted as half of the cash proceeds (if more than $25,000) you earned from the previous flat, will be required to be paid in cash for part of the valuation of your next purchase.
But if you are getting a bank loan, then there will be no concerns.
