Good morning,

Unfortunately if there are no special reasons such as a legal court order, the cheque can only be issued in joint names basis and this has been HDB practice all along. This is to ensure the sale proceeds safely reach both owners of the just sold flat.

Unfortunately you are unable to get HDB issue another cheque under individual names. This is the standard process by HDB. Only if you have appointed a private lawyer for conveyancing and gave the law firm the instructions to issue cheques according to 2 names.
