Hi,

1) The agreement for HDB extension of stay varies according to the buyers and the sellers. There is no fixed pattern.
2) But the general agreement usually is the seller will take care of the town council fee and SP services during the stay.
3) Some sellers charges a symbolic rent but usually is free for this period.
4) Although it is true that the property tax is higher for the 3 months period. Most of the buyers out of good gesture will waive this.
5) Let said a property tax on a 4-rm flat is estimated to be around $100, average $8+ per month. By paying the 10% instead of 4% for that 3 months is around $20+/mth which is $60+ instead of $20+.
6) You may negotiate with the seller over those costs that are deemed unfair for you to incur.
