I have lived in my HDB for more than 10yrs and I am a Singaporean. Does it mean that I am eligible to buy and live in another private property and rent out my HDB as a whole flat legally ? Or still subject to approval? Thanks

Hi,

If you have owned the HDB for more than 5 years and met the MOP, yes you can purchase private property and rent out the hdb. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Warm Regards,

Hi,
Yes, you can purchase a private property and rent out the whole flat. HDB approval is still a required process. Others to be aware is the ABSD for 2nd property and the property tax after you sublet out the HDB.

To assist and advise you more in details, kindly drop me an email for me to share.

I am contactable at my mobile or email.

Morning,

Since you have stayed in your HDB unit for more than 5 years, you have fulfilled the basic requirement. Therefore you are eligible to purchase your second property, subjected to 7% ABSD, payable by cash. If your current HDB is still under mortgage, you can obtain max of 50% loan where 25% down payment have to be made with cash.

Hi,

Yes, as long as you have fulfilled your 5-year MOP, you can go ahead and purchase a private residential for own occupancy, and then rent out your HDB flat for rental income.

Upon subletting the HDB flat, you will be required to submit for "HDB approval", to ensure that you are renting to the eligible tenants.

Do take note of the relevant stamp duties and property taxes involved should you decide to take this step.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assist.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen
