Hi,
1) In order to be eligible to buy an HDB flat, you must be free from owning any private property. This is one of the criteria clearly spelled under the eligibility scheme listed by the HDB.
2) If you intend to purchase a resale HDB flat, you have the option of disposing of your interest in the private property before and after the HDB purchase. But it must be within 6 months upon key collection of the HDB purchase.
3) If you intend to purchase a BTO/SBF, you have to wait out 30 mths after disposing of your interest in the private property before being eligible to apply for it.
