I have a question:

I am Single, age 32, going to be Citizen soon. I stay with my Elderly Parents who are of age 70, 65 on LSVP for 3 years.

I did enquire HDB for the eligiblty under Non-Citizen scheme but for that, My parents are asked to relinquish thier existing property back home which is not acceptable for me. I cannot ask my parents to leave thier property because I want to buy my property here.

I did try all possible ways to buy Condominium. I cannot afford to buy Condo as its extremely expensive. I have serious issues to pay up 15% of cash ( after all the calculations done with available cash and CPF available money).


I can definitely afford to buy an Executive Apartment of HDB upto 500k. But due to eligiblity, I am stuck to stay on rent for next 3 yrs till i get 35.

Would there any possiblity for me to buy HDB before 3 years.

Evening Sharma,

As much as I would like to help you, under your current condition, there's no way out to purchase a HDB unit, under single scheme, as you have not reached 35 years old.

I'm sure you are also aware that you cannot purchase a unit with your parents, as per advice by the HDB officers.

The alternative way out is to buy with your spouse, that's unless you have such intention.
