Asked by
I have a HDB flat and my parents will be staying in .
My questions :

1) can they stay in my HDB flat ( less than 5yrs MOP) while they rent out their 5rooms flat (meet MOP) , and I reside with my husband which he own a private condo by himself ?
2) can I still keep my HDB ( purchased under single scheme mode) while I reside with my husband at his condo ( he purchase under single scheme too ) ?
3) do my parents need to register as occupier if they staying at my HDB which I own it solely ?

In short , I want to keep my HDB , I'm not renting it out to others , my parents staying in my HDB while I reside with my husband at his condo .

Pls advise .

Thanks Ivan :) I had mentioned my plans in my post . Thanks for asking :)
Good morning,

It's possible as there is no monetary concern within your proposed arrangement and it's intended for your parents. They can then rent out their own unit for additional income.

Do feel free to contact me should you require additional assistance.

Hi,

It all appears ok.

However, do note that, as the name MOP implies, Minimum Occupation Period, you need to Physically occupy the unit to be counted.

If you move to another address on the 2nd yr, the MOP stops.

DO ENQUIRE with HDB on this. you do not want to be caught trying to sell your unit 10yrs later to find that you have not satisfied the MOP.
