i have a 4 room HDB flat tenancy which the tenant has stayed for 11 months and will not renew. Tenancy period will end next month.
Recently, I was informed that the common toilet wooden door handle broke and the tenant threw away door handle without my permission or knowledge. The toilet was under HDB main upgrading programme by the government 9 years ago.
I was informed by 1 of the HDB contractor that the door handle can not be repaired as no available part. It has to be replaced to a stainless steel door for $80.
So my question is who should pay for the replacement of door if the wooden door handle can not be repaired due to no such spare part?
