I had a house passed down by my parents.fully paid by them years back.the house name is under my name and my brothers.I am intending to get a bto with my wife.what’s is best suggestion to remove my name out?
1) go to Hdb transfer the ownership. What are cons involved and payment?
2)sell my share of the house, how do I determine the values?if so will I lost my first timer bto benefits.
Can any guru advice.

Hi,

1) Transfer of ownership (not through a sale) does not apply to your current situation.

2) Thus in order for you to remove your name from the current HDB flat is to sell your share to your brother.
3) Your brother must meet the HDB eligibility scheme to keep the flat in the first place.

4) To keep the story short, if he is single SC, he must be at least 35 or more to be eligible.
5) Next is he must be able to get enough loans from the HDB or a bank to buy over your share.
6) I would think the part selling is suitable for your situation.

7) The selling procedures will be the same as though you are selling the whole unit. The instructions and guides are here:

8) You are still entitled to 1st timer privilege in your BTO application. Once confirm your brother is able to take over your share. You may put up your BTO application right away.

Hi Shane,

1) The process as mentioned is as if you are selling the whole flat.
2) Pls refer to my earlier reply on the link.
3) The procedures are simplified as follows.
(a) You register intent to sell, wait for 7 days cooling period before issuing an OTP.
(b) Your brother registered intent to buy. If he needs a loan from the HDB, he must apply and received the HLE before the issuing of the OTP.
(c) Discuss and agree on the selling price.
(d) Your brother submit for valuation using the OTP issued.
(e) The HDB will provide the value of the flat.
(f) Once the value is out, your brother will have 21 days from the day of OTP issued to decide whether to exercise the OTP.
(g) Once exercised, both of you shall submit the resale application and follow the HDB instructions to complete the sale.
