I currently own a condo with my parents. I plan to downgrade to a HDB BTO in 2 years time when I turn 35.

When must I sell my condo in order to be able to apply for BTO? Intend to have as little time as possible in between selling condo and getting BTO.

Hi,

Not sure if you are aware, for BTO, Singles 35 and above can only apply for 2rm units in non-mature estates (eg. Sengkang Punggol). Is that suitable for your plans? If so, you need to wait out 30 months after selling your condo before you can apply for the BTO.

However, for resale HDB, no issue you are eligible for all unit types. And there is no 30 month wait out period after selling condo.

May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Hi Kristen,

If you were to apply for a BTO flat upon turning 35 years old as a single, you are only eligible to apply for 2RM HDB flat in non-mature estate. Moreover, you will need to wait out a 30-month period upon disposing off your interest in your private property before you can apply for the BTO.

May I know what's your objectives doing so? Have you explored all options that are available to you yet? And are you sure this is the best possible option for you?

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen
