I currently have my name in a flat with my parents. I was told it would be easy to remove my name from the flat but apparently not. Now, there is no one to take over my name and my wife and I can't buy a new flat. Is there any suggestion? Can I actually be a guarantor or get someone to be guarantor to obtain loan from back to help my parents finance payment for a new smaller flat?

Afternoon Han,

To remove your name from your parent's unit is easy. But your parents must have the financial ability to pay off the CPF and interest that have being incurred. They must also be able to get financing for the loan. Based on your situation, why not ask your parents to apply for HDB Studio while you purchase a resale unit and sell off your the HDB apartment,
