I am Singaporean who is married. I live in overseas with my husband and child(who are non-citizens). I would like to purchase a HDB flat in Singapore. Can I buy a new flat or resale flat? Is my employment a factor in the buying process or can I use my husband's income for my basis of mortgage payment?

As you will be getting HDB unit under non-citizen spouse scheme, your income will be used for the mortgage assessment.

Good evening Shilpa,

You can purchase a resale HDB under non citizen spouse scheme and only your income will be taken into consideration for obtaining mortgage.

To purchase a BTO, your spouse must be at least a SPR. Hope my explanation helps!
