You are not allowed to keep both flats concurrently. In your case, you can apply for an Enhanced Contra Facility to time the sale of your current resale flat and purchase of the subsequent flat in a timely manner without paying for ABSD. It depends on whether you need the sale proceeds to come back first before you are able to complete the purchase. Alternatively, if no bank loan is involved, you can consider to apply for enhanced contra facility.

It really depends on your situation. If you have ready funds to purchase the next flat without selling your current flat, you may choose to do so, so that you have ample time to sell off your current flat.

However, if you need the sale proceeds from your current flat in order to purchase your next flat, you may wish to sell your flat first before you commit to your next purchase. Timeline planning is crucial in this situation, as I believe you would also want to avoid the hassle of having to shift house more than once?
