Morning kshio,

if you buy a BTO/ resale HDB, you have to fulfill the minimum occupation of 5 years before able to rent out the whole unit.

But you can sublet rooms out and conditions are that you must register with HDB and owner must be staying in that unit.

Morning,

With the current ruling, purchaser of HDB unit have to fulfill 5 years MOP regardless of the purchase or loan status. Though flat owners can rent out the entire unit after writing in for approval, in the case where owners are posted oversea for work, it's still subjected to approval.
