I am intending to tie the knot with my non citizen fiancée who has a property overseas.
I understand that she will have to dispose her overseas property if we were to purchase a resale HDB regardless of the funding method.

I am just curious and would like to know.. what if i were to purchase the resale HDB first under my name (single scheme) before i tie the knot and register her name as a occupier a few years later.. will she still need to dispose her overseas property?

Hi,
If you are above 35, you can buy a HDB first and then tie the knot. This way, your fiancee need not sell her overseas property as all qualifying assessments are carried out at the point of purchase only.

1) This is possible if you are at or above 35 yrs old.
2) She can then be added later as an occupier after you get married.
3) She will not be required to sell her overseas property under such an arrangement.
