I am in the process of selling my private property. Buyer has exercise the option. Should I look for a resale hdb now or have to wait till the completion of sales? Will bank be able to issue mortgage loan to me with the exercised option agreement?

Yes you can look for resale hdb now, bank loan depends on amount required and purchase price, as well as your current finances and age income profile. An exercised OTP for your sale will definitely help.

Since your buyer had exercised the Option, you can start with the hunt on resale HDB unit. Banks will also be ready to assess your mortgage based on 80% loan, subjected to your income status and credit record.

There is no need to wait till the completion. You will be able to loan 80% for HDB purchase, regardless whether your buyer has exercised the OTP or not.

In fact, you should proceed to source for your HDB resale flat even before you sell your private property, as HDB transactions will take longer than private transactions.

For your situation, there may be a period where you will be left with no place to stay. You may try to sound your Buyer out, to rent back the unit from the Buyer after completion.

You should start sourcing for a resale HDB immediately as the procedure for HDB purchase is usually longer than private.

Do you have a temporary accommodation to stay in if not you might to consider renting the condo back for awhile from the buyers.

And yes you are eligible to obtain max 80% loan.
